The History of Feenstra’s Asparagus
Before the property was purchased by Jeremy and Marie DeGroot in 2017, the Feenstra family sold flowers and asparagus out of the facility starting in the 1960s.
Today, customers still recall traveling long distances to get their fix of this delicious spring treat and watching John or Joyce Feenstra weigh out asparagus on the antique scale in their garage. Feenstra’s Asparagus is still grown in the field right behind our greenhouse. We will continue to offer it as long as the Feenstra family can grow it.
